MARSHALL -- Dawson-Boyd posted four of the top six scores Friday to win the Section 5A-South girls golf meet.

The Blackjacks posted a 413. MACCRAY was second with a 474. Both teams advance to the Section 5A meet May 30 at Little Crow Country Club near New London.

Janelle Baldwin paced the Blackjacks with a 99. Ashley Abraham (102), Leah Hickey (104) and Ivy Schueller (108) rounded out Dawson-Boyd's scoring.

Trisha Kienitz of MACCRAY led the field with a 94.

Fresh from shooting an event-record score at the Red Wing Invitational at Mississippi National on Wednesday, the unbeaten Minnewaska Area girls golf team shot 324 to win their own seven-team invitational by 29 strokes over second-place Grand Rapids. Co-medalists Chelsey Falk and Courtney Boe each shot 80 and Emily Roering an 81 to lead the Lakers.

Willmar had a season-best 395 and finished sixth in a strong field. Minnetonka was first with 355 and Eden Prairie was second with 368.

Katie Kroona had the low score for Willmar with a 92. Emily Nelsen had a career-berst 96, Dana Thompson finished with 98 and Jennifer Ridler 109. The Cardinals were missing their No. 2 player, Allison Baker, who had a choir commitment.
