ALEXANDRIA -- Abby Williams and Sarah Toft each scored shorthanded in the first three minutes to start an Alexandria avalanche that ended with a 12-1 Central Lakes Conference victory in girls hockey over Willmar.
Williams and Toft combined for seven goals as Alex improved to 10-0-3 in the CLC.
Ashley Hutton scored for Willmar with assists to Kelsey Swanson and Victoria Constans.
Alexandria (17-1-4) beat Willmar 8-1 on Dec. 20, three days after losing 4-0 to Moorhead. That was Alexandria's only loss coming into the second meeting with Willmar (1-22).
Defensively, Alexandria has permitted more than one goal only six times in 23 games and more than three only once -- the loss to Moorhead.
