WILLMAR -- Behind a seven-point performance from Jessica Bye that featured six goals, Brainerd upended Willmar 10-3 Thursday in a Central Lakes Conference game.
Bye netted at least one goal in each period including three in the first period to help the Warriors (3-2, 4-4) stake a 3-1 lead. Chelsey Wierschem got Willmar (1-5, 4-6) within one at 2-1 when she scored on a power-play goal, but Brainerd then netted the game's next four goals.
Chelsey Beilhartz ended the Warriors' run when she received a pass from Kelsey Johnson on another power play and put the puck past Brainerd netminder Kayla Helmberger. Erin Sheehan netted the last goal for Willmar after receiving a pass from Alexandra Sing with 6:08 remaining in the game.
Brainerd outshot Willmar, which is at Alexandria on Tuesday, 44-18.
