PAYNESVILLE -- River Lakes netted six goals in the third period and Stars' forwards Greta Omann and Jenn Paul picked up hat tricks Thursday as the Stars upended Willmar 11-4 in a Central Lakes Conference girls hockey game Thursday.
Erin Sheehan and Chelsey Beilhartz scored less than two minutes apart in the first period to give Willmar (1-4, 2-5) a 2-1 lead.
But River Lakes (2-3, 3-6) scored the game's next three goals to take control.
Kenzie Novak and Alyssa Kemper both scored twice and Kelsey Athmann netted another goal to help the Stars outshoot Willmar 41-28.
Chelsey Wierschem scored in the second period for Willmar and Sheehan struck again in the third period for the Cardinals.

Willmar plays a non-conference game against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/-Wadena-Deek Creek on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Long Prairie.
