WILLMAR -- Goals by Alexandra Sing and Taylor Sandberg provided Willmar a one-goal lead headed to the third period, but Sartell scored twice in the final stanza for a 3-2 Central Lakes Conference win in girls hockey at the Civic Center on Thursday.

Coach Rick Dahle said the Cardinals played hard and played well in front of a second straight big crowd by girls hockey standards.

"Sartell had hot goaltending and they scored on a rink-long rush in the third period and then caught us on a line change for the go-ahead goal," said the first-year head coach. "It was an exciting game and the crowd was terrific again."

Sing, a freshman forward, scored her first varsity goal just two minutes into the game on a rebound off a shot by Sandberg.

At 11:00 of the second period, Sandberg scored on a tip-in from the side after crisp passing by defensemen Libby Flickinger and Kelsey Johnson."
