Girls Hockey: Willmar skates past Flyers, 5-3

LITTLE FALLS -- The Willmar Cardinals survived a late challenge by the Little Falls Flyers to win a Central Lakes Conference girls hockey game on Friday night 5-3.

LITTLE FALLS -- The Willmar Cardinals survived a late challenge by the Little Falls Flyers to win a Central Lakes Conference girls hockey game on Friday night 5-3.

Willmar improved to 4-10 in the CLC and 9-12 overall. The Cardinals are at Brainerd on Tuesday.

Willmar led 3-0 after two periods before the Flyers lifted off the ground with two goals. But Taylor Sandberg and Chelsey Wierschem scored goals to rebuff the Flyers' attack.
