ALEXANDRIA -- A quick Alexandria team stymied Willmar's offense as the hometown Cardinals blanked the visitors 7-0 Tuesday in the Central Lakes Conference.
"They are a very quick passing team and they passed right around us," said Willmar coach Jeff Winter. "We had one good (scoring) chance early in the second half, but we didn't have the ball down (in Alexandria territory) much in the first half."
Alexandria netted four goals in the first half and three more in the second half of play.
