ST. CLOUD -- Willmar won only four events, but its depth propelled a 94-89 win over Central Lakes Conference rival St. Cloud Apollo Thursday.
Alissa Tinklenberg in the 200 freestyle (2:03.40) and 500 freestyle (5:37.12), Laura Polman in diving (158.75) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:47.03) of Sarah Hund, Mary Erickson, Aleasha Blokzyl and Tinklenberg) captured first-place finishes for Willmar. But the Cardinals never placed worst than fifth in every event to offset Apollo's eight wins.
Willmar is at the Bemidji Invitational on Saturday.
