SARTELL -- Top-seeded Becker eliminated Willmar from the Section 8AA tournament Monday after upending the fourth seed 6-1 in the semifinals of the South sub-section at Gold's Gym.
A victory would have secured Willmar a spot in the Section 8AA final four that begins next Tuesday in Grand Forks.
Willmar (3-11) had won three of its last four matches, but senior Jenny Peterson at 1-singles was the only Cardinal to earn a point against the Bulldogs.
Peterson rebounded to win the second and third sets -- both by a score of 6-2 -- after losing the opener 7-5 to Hannah Miller.
Senior Trisha Foshaug and freshman Katie Switzer nearly earned another point for Willmar, but after squaring their match by winning the second set 6-4 at 2-doubles, they fell 6-3 in the finale.

The individual tournament will be held Wednesday and Thursday back at Gold's Gym.
