REDWOOD FALLS -- All of the higher-seeded players won their matches Monday in the opening rounds of the Section 3A girls individual tennis tournament.
Reaching the semifinals in singles were No. 1 Madeline Gail of Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd, No. 2 Jill Hagestuen of Benson, No. 3 Melanie Gail of Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd and No. 4 Megan Seipel of New London-Spicer.
The doubles semifinals will feature No. 1 Alissa Mattison-Sam Boushek of Redwood Valley, No. 2 Becky Meyer-Ashley Forstrom of MACCRAY, No. 3 Sam Gacke-Melissa Klein of Luverne and No. 4 MacKenzie Weber-Abby Fragodt of Benson.
The semifinals will start at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter with the championship matches to follow.
