SARTELL -- The Willmar Cardinals broke through on Thursday for their first win, beating the Sartell Sabres 4-3 in Central Lakes Conference girls tennis.
Heidi Wilson-Brooklyn Leitch got the winning point for the Cardinals after they edged Jenny Spellacy-Chelsea Christman 7-6 (11-9), 2-6, 6-2 at 2-doubles.
Carrie Boike at 3-singles, Kayli Gimse at 4-singles and the 3-doubles duo of Megan Rudie and Betsy Vomacka also won for the Cardinals.
