MONTEVIDEO -- Gloria Arends, 61, of Montevideo died Monday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis as the result of a sudden illness. The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
She was born July 26, 1944, in Montevideo to Everett and Alice (Lyngen) Winters.
She married Dennis Arends on March 6, 1965, in Montevideo.

She is survived by her husband; children: Daniella (and Matthew) Schroeder, Randy (and Jodi) Arends, Scott Arends; five grandchildren; her mother; and siblings: John (and Bev) Winters, Curt (and Sue) Winters and Wayne Winters.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
