WILLMAR - WCCO news team Frank Vascellaro and Chris Shaffer, with WCCO radio host John Hines, will visit the Willmar Lakes Area on Thursday and Friday for the first stop on their annual summer series: “Goin’ to the Lake!”
Vascellaro and Shaffer will visit local establishments, connect with local residents and experience everything the Willmar Lakes Area has to offer. In addition, they will report live during evening newscasts.
The public is welcome to join the team at Zorbaz in Spicer for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts on Thursday, at O’Neil’s in Spicer for the 10 p.m. newscast on Thursday, and at Neer Park in New London with the Little Crow Ski Team for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts on Friday.
WCCO radio is a new addition to this year’s Goin’ to the Lake series. Hines will broadcast from 9 a.m. to noon Friday from the Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar. The public is welcome to join him there.
Every Thursday and Friday through August 15, the WCCO news team will visit and broadcast from different vacation spots in Minnesota and western.
