Shooting guard Lawrence Westbrook signed a scholarship tender Wednesday to play for the Minnesota men's basketball team.
The 6-foot, 190-pound player from Chandler, Ariz., spent his senior season at the Winchendon Prep school in Massachusetts - where he averaged 18 points per game. Rivals.com, a national recruiting analyst, ranked Westbrook as the 75th-best player in the nation.
As a junior, Westbrook led the country with an average of 40.1 points per game, according to a university news release. He broke the Arizona state single-season scoring record, finishing with 883 points in 22 games.
