WILLMAR — State Rep. Tim Miller, R-Prinsburg, has ended his campaign for Minnesota's Seventh Congressional District.
Instead, Miller will seek re-election to his current seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 17A in 2018.
"It's been an honor to run and discuss meaningful issues with voters all over the district these last nine month," Miller said in a news release.
While he believed he could have earned the Republican endorsement, he said, "A campaign to unseat 28-year incumbent Collin Peterson will need stronger fundraising and greater state and national traction than I've been able to generate."
Miller thanked his family, volunteers and donors for their encouragement while he explored a run for Congress.
Miller said he looks forward to returning to the Legislature and pursuing solutions related to healthcare and protecting the vulnerable and working on issues related to the Montevideo Veterans home, the Appleton prison and the closing of Benson Power.
