DFL endorses Flowe for House 17B
WILLMAR — The Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party unanimously endorsed Anita Flowe, of Willmar, as its candidate for Minnesota House District 17B, which covers most of Kandiyohi County.
She was endorsed March 17 at the DFL District Convention in Raymond to run in the November general election for the seat currently held by Rep. Dave Baker, a Willmar Republican.
Flowe, who has a doctorate in engineering from the University of Toledo, has worked in a wide range of fields from manufacturing to doing research for NASA, according to a news release announcing the endorsement. Today, she is involved in civic organizations including Rotary, Rice Hospice and the Barn Theatre, along with various music groups.
She lives in Willmar with her husband, Ken Flowe. The couple have two adult children.
Flowe said in the news release that her work experience has taught her how to solve complex issues while her community involvement has introduced her to many issues facing local residents. If elected, she said she wants to bring a new perspective and problem-solving skills to help get things done and work for local residents.
