Granite Falls asks residents to conserve water due to water main break

GRANITE FALLS - The city of Granite Falls staff has located the broken water main and has isolated the break from the rest of the system, according to a Saturday evening update from the city. Water usage can return to normal.
GRANITE FALLS - The city of Granite Falls is asking residents to conserve water until further notice. As of Saturday morning, a water main break occurred in an unknown location.
The city is working as fast as possible to locate the break and make needed repairs. The melting conditions and the amount of snow is complicating the search for the location of the break, the city said in an announcement. The city has called a leak detection service to assist with this and they are trying to get their equipment to town as quickly as possible. As soon as the water main break is found, the city will make repairs.
The city will continue to update residents as the situation progresses.
