PIPESTONE -- Grace (Sportel) Blom, 78, of Pipestone, died Wednesday at the Pipestone Medical Center.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Christian Reformed Church in Pipestone. Burial will be in New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone.
Arrangements are with the Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel.
She was born June 22, 1927, in Renville County to George and Jennie (Hoogerman) Sportel. The family moved to Kandiyohi County when she was 2, and she attended country school. She worked at Jennie-O Foods.

She married Albert Blom in 1951 in Prinsburg. They lived and farmed in Grange Township in Pipestone County, and she worked in housekeeping at the Pipestone County Medical Center for 13 years.
She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Pipestone.
She is survived by her husband; three children: Mary (and Buddie) Adkins of Ankeny, Iowa, Roger Blom of Pipestone, and Lyle (and Julie) Blom of Pipestone; two grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers: Ben (and Donna) Sportel of Roseland, George (and Marcella) Sportel of Prinsburg; and one sister: Janet (and Clarence) Ledaboer of Richfield
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
