Grace Rustad

WILLMAR -- Grace Rustad, 94, of Willmar died Thursday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Burial will be in West Norway Lake Cemetery in Sunburg.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour before the service at the church.

She was born March 27, 1911, in Willmar to Thosten and Louise (Flolo) Hande. She attended Sunburg District 29 for her schooling and, after moving to Minneapolis, graduated from West Minneapolis High School. She continued her education in nursing at a vocational school in Minneapolis.
On Oct. 22, 1933, she married Burton C. Rustad in Sunburg. They lived in Morris and Ellendale until moving in 1937 to Games Lake, where they owned and operated a resort until the early 1970s. They retired and sold the land to Kandiyohi County for County Park 7. She moved into Willmar in the early 1990s.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Sunburg, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 11 years and was active in the women's circle and quilting group.
She is survived by a son: Russ (and Dorothy) Rustad of Willmar; daughter-in-law: Phyllis Rustad of Willmar; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Philip.
