CLARA CITY - A Granite Falls man who was airlifted after an accident Dec. 29 on Minnesota Highway 23 southwest of Raymond has died of his injuries.
The family of George Schindele, 80, of Granite Falls, reported that he died Jan. 4 while a patient at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Schindele was airlifted following the two-vehicle crash at 10:54 a.m. Dec. 29 on Highway 23 at the intersection of Chippewa County Road 1.
Schindele was a passenger in a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu driven by his wife, Linda Schindele, 74, of Granite Falls.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, they were proceeding northeast on Highway 23 when the Malibu struck a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup that was stopped northeast bound, waiting to turn left onto Chippewa County Road 1, which is also 150th Avenue Southeast.

The driver of the Ram pickup, Zachary Thissen, 28, of Raymond, was not injured.
Linda Schindele was treated at the Granite Falls Hospital for non-life threatening-injuries, according to the State Patrol report.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Clara City Police, Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, Raymond Fire and Ambulance and Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
