The Granite Falls Kilowatts, who took second in the Region 9C amateur baseball tournament Sunday, will face Region 5C champion Kasson in the first round of the state Class C amateur baseball tournament at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamburg. Norwood is the other site this season.
Granite Falls, which made seven straight state tournament trips from 1999-2005, including winning the 2002 title, lost to Milroy 4-3 in Milroy Sunday. The Yankees will meet 5C runner-up Rochester Blues at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Kasson hasn't been to a state tournament in at least the last six seasons, which is how far back the Minnesota Amateur Baseball site ( www.minnesotabaseball.org ) has stored past tournament information.
This will be the 27th state tournament appearance for Granite Falls.
Defending state champion Blue Earth returns this year, as does runner up Union Hill. The Rochester Blues lost to Union Hill in the loser's bracket final last season.

The first two rounds of the state tournament are single elimination. Double elimination starts with the quarterfinal games.
