VIRGINIA -- Hilary Groothuis scored 20 points and Lisa Nielsen added 12 more as Ridgewater whipped Mesabi Range on Friday, 71-60, in women's basketball action.
Both posted double-doubles with Nielsen grabbing 11 rebounds and Groothuis 10. Brittany Glisczinski added 11 points.
The Lady Warriors' defense held Mesabi Range to 20 field goals and just 37 percent shooting from the field, while offensively, Ridgewater shot 45 percent (30 of 67).
The Lady Warriors play Vermilion in Ely today.
