BELGRADE - A project advisory team for the Bonanza Valley Groundwater Management Area will conduct a public meeting from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Veterans of Foreign War post in Belgrade.
The meeting is another in a series of meetings in the Bonanza Valley area, which extends from near Alexandria to Paynesville.
The region is one of three pilot communities the Department of Natural Resources is using as a source of data and ideas to create a strategic plan for implementing ways to create a sustainable groundwater supply while also planning for economic development and growth.
The project advisory team will discuss how to comply with groundwater appropriation regulations and how to better conserve groundwater in the area. The team will also be available for questions, comments and concerns raised by citizens of the area.
