GROVE CITY -- Russ Davis, the Rural Housing Administrator for Rural Development in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will visit Grove City at 11 a.m. Thursday for a ceremony recognizing Grove City Community Homes.
Grove City Community Homes was recently awarded an $834,000 low-interest USDA loan to rehabilitate its 26-unit family housing complex.
Originally built in 1964 with an $182,000 low-interest loan, Grove City Community Homes was the first multifamily housing complex in the nation financed by USDA Rural Development, then known as the Farmer's Home Administration.
"This is a unique project and illustrates the importance of housing in rural areas," said Steve Wenzel, state director of USDA Rural Development in Minnesota.
"We are honored to have Mr. Davis visit Minnesota for this event and look forward to a great day."
