BLOMKEST - A Raymond man was airlifted from Lake Wakanda Thursday afternoon after suffering an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, at around 2:40 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at the south access of Lake Wakanda, near Blomkest.
At the scene deputies located a 54-year-old man from Raymond who had a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was transported by Life Link Air Ambulance to the St. Cloud Hospital where his condition is unknown.
The sheriff's department was assisted by Blomkest First Responders, Blomkest Fire Department, Willmar ambulance and Life Link Air Ambulance.
