WILLMAR -- For those who think their garage is too small, Matt Thein seems to have just the answer.
The garage-like structure he escorted down Minnesota Highway 40 on Thursday measured all of 72-feet wide by 80-feet deep and 26-feet high. That's ample room for all kinds of stuff.
But this building already has its purpose. It's the 10th of 11 hangars to be moved by Thein Moving of Clara City from Rice Field to the new Willmar Municipal Airport.
The hangar belongs to local pilot Bruce Hanson, according to Thein. The hangar is wider than two lanes of roadway. Its transport required the temporary closing of a portion of state Highway 40.
The two-mile trip at a power-walker's stride took about one hour.

Thein said the entire job of preparing the hangar for the move, transporting it and placing it on a new foundation represented a three-day process.
The biggest job is yet ahead. The largest of the hangars at the "old'' airport is scheduled for a move during the third week of December. The T-hangar owned by Willmar Air Service measures 60-feet by 162-feet. It too will be transported in one piece, according to Thein.
To make yesterday's move, all the road signs along the highway had to be removed. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office provided traffic control.
It was not a complicated move, according to Thein. It was not necessary to move any power lines and there were no railroad tracks to cross, he pointed out.
