CLARKFIELD -- Harlan Jerome Moseng, 71, of Clarkfield died Thursday at his home.

The service was Monday at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Arrangements were by Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield.

He was born April 20, 1937, in Montevideo to Josie (Morseth) and Henry Moseng. He attended school in Granite Falls through fourth grade and then moved to Montevideo where he attended country school through eighth grade. He graduated from Central High School in Montevideo in 1955. He served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1961.

He married Carol Peterson on April 11, 1959, in Clarkfield. They farmed west of Montevideo until 1964, when they moved west of Clarkfield. From 1978 to 1989 he worked at PPG in Marshall. After the plant closed, he worked at the sugar beet plant in Renville until retiring in 2005.

He was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, where he was a former church president, treasurer and Sunday School teacher. He was on the Call Committee and attended adult Bible study.

He is survived by his wife; children: Dr. Bradley Moseng of Montevideo, Brenda (and Frank) Vanderveur of Alexandria, Dr. Bruce Moseng of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Dr. Brent (and Deja) Moseng of Flagstaff, Ariz.; eight granddaughters; a sister: Beverly (and Arden) Anderson; and a brother: Elwood (and Betty Burgess) Moseng.

He was preceded in death by a sibling in infancy.
