NORTHWOOD, N.D. -- Harley J. Myhre, 87, of Northwood, N.D., died Oct. 17.
The service took place Oct. 19 at the First Church of God in Grand Forks, N.D. Burial was at the Washington Lutheran Church Cemetery in Northwood, N.D.
He was born May 26, 1920, in Kerkhoven to Ole and Judith Myhre. He attended school through eighth grade near Kerkhoven. He went to high school at West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. While in the Army, he was a cook in England. He worked for a pottery plant in California. Then he returned home to farm near Kerkhoven for 12 years.
He married Vivian Lundquist on April 13, 1957. They moved to Northwood, N.D., in 1957, where he farmed for 25 years until his retirement. He then worked part-time for AGVISE soil testing, for several years. In July, he moved into the Northwood Nursing Home.

He is survived by his wife; son: David, daughter: Diane Wright; several grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers: Floyd (and Cora) Myhre of Kerkhoven, Milo (and Roberta) Myhre of New London; and two sisters: Lyla Hansen of Spicer and Genevieve (and Irwin) Anderson of Pennock.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and an infant brother.
