MADISON -- Harold Moen, 82, of Madison died Feb. 9 at his home in Madison, after a battle with cancer.
The service will be at 11 a.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Arrangements are with Zahrbock Funeral Chapel in Madison.
He was born Feb. 24, 1923, in rural Madison to Hilmer and Gurina (Osteraas) Moen. He attended country school at District 29 and two years of high school in Appleton. He received a diploma from Douglas Aircraft School in California. He returned to the family farm and farmed there for 70 years.

He married Minerva Fossen on Nov. 1, 1942.
He received many honors and awards, including certificate of adult leadership in 4-H; the distinguished service award for faithful service in music for Farmers Union activities; certificate of recognition for Lutheran Social Service's Senior Linkage program at the county and state levels; was the Lac qui Parle Soil and Water Conservation District's outstanding conservationist in 1995; was active as an usher and deacon in his churches; was Lac qui Parle County's Outstanding Senior Citizen in 2003; and received the Loyal Order of Lou Certificate from the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce and Citizens of Madison in 2005.
He is survived by his wife; children: Jan Radach of Sioux Falls, S.D., Harvey (and Janice) Moen of Roseville, Brian (and Karin) Moen of rural Madison; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings: Hedvig (and Abner) Hegre of Chaska, Doris (and Robert) Kuehl of Oakdale, and Selfred Moen and Milton (and Helen) Moen, all of Madison.
He was preceded in death by one son-in-law: Dean Radach; and six siblings.
