ROCKWELL CITY, IOWA -- Harold "Pete" Anderson, 68, formerly of Montevideo, died Monday at his home in Rockwell City, Iowa.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rockwell City. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Rockwell City.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Palmer-Swank Funeral Home in Rockwell City and for one hour before the service at the church.

He was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Montevideo to Bennie and Myrtle Anderson. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962.

He married Nancy Moen on Oct. 13, 1962, at Maynard Lutheran Church. He received a bachelor's degree in ag business from the University of Minnesota in 1967. He worked for Sinclair Petroleum in Clear Lake, Iowa, and then moved to Rockwell City where he worked with Farmland Industries. In the mid 80's, he sold life insurance for Northwestern Mutual and finished his career at Opportunity Living as personnel director in 2001.

He is survived by his wife; two sons: David (and Nicky) of Manson, Iowa, and Joe (and Savanna) of Granite Falls; six grandchildren; two brothers: John (and Gwynne) of Spicer, and Jim (and BJ) of Port Royal, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher; one sister; and one brother.
