APPLETON -- Harvey Jerome Anderson, 62, of Appleton, died Sunday at the Stevens County-Morris Hospital.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shible Township. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
He was born July 25, 1944, in Morris to Edwin and Mabel (Kohlman) Anderson. He graduated from Appleton Public Schools in 1962. He had 16 years of military experience and was honorably discharged. He worked in the fertilizer and farm chemical business for 20 years, and worked part time in farming and with the Appleton Police Department. He was a correctional officer and instructor at Prairie Correctional Facility for 12 years and retired in July of 2006.

He was active in his church, served on the church council and sang with the church choir. He was a member of VFW Post 4955 and American Legion Post 72, both in Appleton. He also was a member of the "Just Us" singing group.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; children: Keith (and Nancy) Anderson of New Ulm, Angie (and Cory) Emerson of Moorhead; three grandchildren; and three sisters: Marion Anderson of Morris, Thelma Wilson of Hancock, and Elnor (and Lawrence) Benkowski of Ortonville.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
