Hawick man transported to St. Cloud Hospital following crash in Burbank Township

The man's current condition is unknown.

BURBANK TOWNSHIP — A 43-year-old Hawick man required medical attention following a one-vehicle crash around 12:45 p.m. Monday on Kandiyohi County Road 9, about a half mile south of 227th Avenue Northeast, according to a statement from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.

Initial reports indicated that the driver was trapped and the vehicle was on fire.

Law enforcement determined that the man was northbound on County Road 9 in his 2007 Chevy Impala when he left the road on the east side and struck a tree.

The man was extricated by emergency personnel and then transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

His condition is unknown.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New London Fire Department and Ambulance Service, the Lakes Area Rural Responders, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Willmar Ambulance Service, Life Link Air Ambulance, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota State Patrol.
