OLIVIA -- Helen V. Breitkreutz, 78, of Olivia died Friday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Lismore to George and Theresa (Cook) Farmer. The family moved to Bird Island where she grew up and graduated from St. Mary's High School. She was a domestic worker for local families as well as working for Bartlett's Clothing Store in Bird Island.
She married Allen Breitkreutz on April 21, 1951, and they lived on his family's century farm. They retired and moved to Olivia in 1987. She worked as the head of the housekeeping department at the Golden Living Center in Olivia for 16 years and also cleaned homes.
She served as principal of the CCD program at St. Mary's Church in Bechyn for many years and was on the church council for many years. In Olivia she assisted with religious education at St. Aloysius Church.
She is survived by her three children: Nancy (and Dwayne) Schoon of Bird Island, Jack Breitkreutz of Princeton (and Carol Peterson of Zimmerman), and Mary Jo Mickelson (and Todd Nelson) of Mankato; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother: Ray (and Lorraine) Farmer of Redwood Falls; and a sister: Veronica Paulsen of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, five sisters and three brothers.
