DEGRAFF -- Henry William Wentzel, 93, of DeGraff died Friday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kerkhoven Lutheran church in Kerkhoven. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Kerkhoven.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was born Sept. 29, 1912, in Woods Township, Chippewa County, to Jacob and Clara (Myers) Wentzel. He grew up in Chippewa County. He attended country school in Lauriston Township.

On Feb. 6, 1932, he married Hazel Ashburn. After their marriage, Henry and Hazel lived and farmed in Chippewa County until 1947, when they moved to their current home two and half miles north of Murdock.

He is survived by two sons, Melvin (and Elaine) Wentzel of DeGraff and Eugene (and Karen) Wentzel of Murdock; two daughters, Rose (and Warren) Maus of Maynard and Alvina (and Richard) Croghan of Browerville; 22 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; two half sisters: Joyce Eujen of Strandsburg, S.D., and Wilma Zemlicka of Watertown, S.D.

He was preceded in death by one son, Merlin Wentzel; one grandson; one brother; and two sisters.
