RENVILLE -- Herbert Julius Krueger, 98, of Renville died Friday at the RenVilla Nursing Home.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the church. Dirks-Blem Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 21, 1907, in Emmet Township, Renville County, to Gustave and Wanda (Strauch) Krueger. He attended country school in District 127 through the eighth grade. He grew up on the family farm. In 1930, he and his parents moved into Renville, where he cared for his parents. He worked at the Texaco Service Station on Highway 212 in Renville. He later bought the station and operated it until 1972, when he sold the station and retired. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for 75 years. He entered the RenVilla Nursing Home in January 1999 and lived there until his death.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Marvelyn (and Lowell) Bratsch of Renville, Arlene (and Harvey) Zimmer of Florida, Roger (and Rosalie) Krueger of Norwood Young America, Harold (and Donna) Reek of Mesa, Ariz., Elaine (and William) Wood of Morgan and Eldon (and Loretta) Krueger of Olivia.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, and five nephews.
