VILLARD -- Herman Archie Rajdl, 84, of Villard died Sunday at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Villard. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Villard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood, with a parish prayer service at 6 p.m., a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
He was born May 31, 1921, in Lake Mary Township, Douglas County, to Frank and Lillian (Zavadil) Rajdl. He attended District 19 in Lake Mary Township and worked as a farm laborer for farmers in the area.

He married Geneva Turchin on Feb. 15, 1944, in Alexandria. They lived and farmed near Brandon until 1946. They moved to Villard and continued farming.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and served on the West Port Township board.
He is survived by his sons: DuWayne Rajdl, Donovan (and Mary) Rajdl, Dennis (and Debra) Rajdl, all of Villard; special friend: Darlene Gaffaney of Villard; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters: Deloris (and John) Kalina and Betty (and Ed) Bearse.
He was preceded in death by his wife; stepmother: Lena; daughter-in-law: Lorene Rajdl; two sisters and two brothers.
