WILLMAR -- Jeff Tardy of Hibbing took the Ed Wilson Memorial Special win on Thursday at the KRA Speedway. He held off Wissota points leader Ryan Aho of Chisholm, who had started eighth in the 20-car field.
Tardy, who started outside front row next to polesetter Shawn Nolan, who finished seventh, is No. 2 in national points trailing only Aho, who is also the track points leader in his class.
The Super Stock lineup included three other drivers ranked in the current top 10: Steve Weber of Big Stone City, S.D., Dave Mass of Princeton and Jeff Flaten of Hancock.
Aho won the 2006 and Mass the 2004 Ed Wilson Special.
The Modifieds did not run, but many drivers would have headed up north for a special at Ada. Meantime, Ada alerted its Super Stock drivers to the Willmar opportunity.

Justin Bjorklund of Belview got a sweep in Mod-4 edging the No. 37 Silver Bullet piloted by Dean Larson of Pennock.
Danny Bayer of Elrosa swept in Midwest Modifieds in another good field. Nate Barber of New London took the second-place money.
Street Stock drew a large field requiring three heats. The main event saw Wisconsin driver Keith Tourville take another checkered flag with Mike Jans of Clarkfield next and Cory Tammen of Clara City in third place.
Three nights of regular racing remain followed by the Fall Festival Sept. 22-23.
