Highway 12 East near bypass opens as resurfacing work ends

WILLMAR -- The resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 12 East at the Willmar bypass has been completed. Crews removed traffic control devices and opened the road to motorists, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Thursday.

The turn lane at Seventh Street Southwest is open to traffic but will have flashing lights, temporarily, while work on the signals is completed.
This project began in early July and work was expected to be completed by mid-November.
MnDOT District 8 Public Affairs Coordinator Judy Jacobs thanked local residents and business owners, commuters and others who may have been affected by the project.
“We appreciate your support and cooperation as we worked to enhance a safe, efficient and effective transportation system and ensure that the transportation system with continue to serve the state for many years,’’ Jacobs said in a news release.
