Highway 12 project at Willmar Bypass is done and open to traffic

WILLMAR – U.S. Highway 12 on the east side of Willmar is done and open to traffic today.

Judy Jacobs, public affairs coordinator from the Minnesota Department of Transportation's District 8 office in Willmar, said the resurfacing project on Highway 12 at the Willmar bypass has been completed and crews are in the process of removing the traffic control devices and opening the road to motorists.   

 The turn lane at 7th Street SW is open to traffic but will have flashing lights, temporarily, while work on the signals is completed.    

 This project began in early July and with an anticipated completion date of mid-November.    

 MnDOT would like to thank local residents and business owners, commuters and other who may have been impacted by this project. 

"We appreciate your support and cooperation as we worked to enhance a safe, efficient and effective transportation system and ensure that the transportation system with continue to serve the state for many years.," said Jacobs.
