MONTEVIDEO - A $1.5 million project to replace a bridge on state Highway 29 in Montevideo will begin Monday.
According to a news release from the state Department of Transportation, the project will require a detour around the construction via U.S. Highway 59 and Chippewa County Road 15.
The contractor, Lunda Construction, is expected to finish the project by Sept. 22, depending on weather. MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and warns that there will be a $300 fine for disobeying signs in the work zone.
