PAYNESVILLE - Minnesota Highway 55 will be detoured for two weeks from state Highway 4 near Paynesville to state Highway 22 in Eden Valley, beginning Monday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said in a news release that crews will be replacing concrete panels to prepare for a 4-inch bituminous overlay.
The detour will route motorists south on Highway 4, east on Meeker County Road 3 and north on Highway 22. The detour will be in effect for approximately two weeks, but will be removed over the weekend.
The project began Sept. 8 and includes resurfacing and turn-lane installation. Work is scheduled to be finished in late October, weather permitting.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
