WILLMAR -- Utility work will require detouring traffic on U.S. Highway 71 in Olivia beginning Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Willmar reports.
The city of Olivia will be undertaking a utility improvement near the junction of U.S. Highways 212 and 71.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-June.
During the work period, southbound traffic west of Olivia will be detoured south to Renville County Road 13, and east on Renville County Road 17 to Highway 71. Southbound traffic east of Olivia will be detoured south to Renville County Road 5 in Bird Island, and west on Renville County Road 17 to Highway 71.
The city of Olivia is installing new water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer crossings of Highway 71 and parallel installation of storm sewer on the west side of Highway 71.
