Highway 71 traffic north of Willmar is affected because of a crash on icy roads

Freezing drizzle is causing icy conditions this morning on roads throughout west central Minnesota.

A crash was reported this morning on U.S. Highway 71, north of Kandiyohi County Road 90 in Willmar, resulting in the temporary closure of the shoulder on Highway 71.

The Minnesota Department of Transportations is advising motorists to slow down and use caution when approaching the accident scene.

MnDOT said roads throughout the area are ice-covered because of intermittent freezing rain.
