RENVILLE -- Hilbert "Hilb" Edward Eitel, 82, of Renville died Sunday at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Cemetery in Chaska.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
He was born May 19, 1925, in Stewart to John and Laura (Gaulke) Eitel. He grew up in Stewart and went to school there.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, during World War II in the First Marine Division in the South Pacific. He worked for five years at the Chaska Canning Company.
He married Helen Greenwald on April 17, 1948, in Jordan. He then worked for Crystal Sugar in Chaska for 27 years. In 1979, they moved to Renville and he worked for Southern Minnesota Sugar Beet Co-op. He retired in 1990. Overall, he worked in the sugar industry for 41 years.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Renville, where he served as usher for 20 years, and a trustee for six years. He was also a life member of the VFW in Chaska.
He is survived by his wife; children: Gary (and Kim) Eitel of Plymouth, Jim (and Claudia Murphy) Eitel of Telford, Tenn., Sandy Eitel of Visalia, Calif., and Cindy (and Bob) Pagelkopf of Chaska; 12 grandchildren; and his sister: Gladys Kaufhold of Waconia.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, a brother and a sister.
