MAYNARD -- Howard Edward Ervin, 81, of Maynard died Monday at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard. Burial will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens of Montevideo.
Visitation will be in the afternoon and evening Friday, with the family being present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and with a prayer service at 7, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
He was born July 21, 1926, in Leenthrop Township, Chippewa County, to Clifford and Alicia (Stark) Ervin. He attended rural schools.

He married Shirley Johnson April 6, 1946. They lived in Big Bend Township until 1959 when they moved to Leenthrop Township. He farmed. Then they moved into Maynard in 1974. He retired from farming and worked with his son for 18 years.
He was a member of Maynard Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; six children: Barbara Ervin of Maple Grove, Bonita (and Ron) Alstad of Buffalo, Barry (and Michelle) Ervin of Chanhassen, Bradley (and Kathy) Ervin of Eden Prairie, Beth (and Gordy) Fawcett of Carlsbad, Calif., and Brent (and Cathy) Ervin of Maynard; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five sisters: Shirley Angrimson of Montevideo, Jean Lundy of Watertown, S.D., Mary Jane (and Ray) Marholz of Montevideo, Vera (and Bob) Farrell of Mountville, Pa. and Janice (and Frances) Lund of Portland, Ore.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons.
