MONTEVIDEO -- Ida Blanche Grau, 87, of Montevideo died Wednesday at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the church. Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo is handling arrangements.

She was born July 16, 1920, in Olwein, Iowa, to Charles and Wealthy (Patterson) Wilson. She graduated from Waterloo East High School.

She married Walter Grau on April 29, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa. They lived in Waterloo. They moved to Montevideo in 1999.

She was a member of East Park, St. Andrews and Bethel Presbyterian churches, all in Iowa, where she was a Sunday school teacher, on altar guild, calling list and church women's activities. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was in circle and women's activities.

She is survived by a son: Lee (and Carol) Grau of Montevideo; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a stepbrother: Orlyn (and Flora) Alcock of Pueblo, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother: Jessie Wilsons; her husband in 2000; a grandson; four brothers; and a sister.
