In bizarre incident, Minnesotan injured after deer jumps between him, snowmobile windshield

UPSALA, Minn. - A Coon Rapids man was injured over the weekend when a deer jumped between him and the windshield of the snowmobile he was driving, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported.

UPSALA, Minn. - A Coon Rapids man was injured over the weekend when a deer jumped between him and the windshield of the snowmobile he was driving, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported.

The sheriff's office was called at 5 p.m. Saturday to the snowmobile crash near 40th Street and Dove Road, in Elmdale Township, northwest of St. Cloud.

Dale Sachs, 58, was traveling single file with a group of riders on the snowmobile trail at about 40 mph.

Sachs stated the deer jumped out from his left and went between him and the windshield of the snowmobile.

Sachs was thrown from the machine and complained of hip pain.

He was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with unknown injuries.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Upsala Fire and Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance.
