LITCHFIELD -- Ivan P. Anderson, 91, of Litchfield died Tuesday at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Hantge Funeral Chapel in Darwin.
He was born Sept. 17, 1914, near Madelia to John and Ida (Johnson) Anderson. He attended country school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II, serving in the Palau Islands and the Philippines. He returned to the area and purchased a farm near Cosmos with his twin brother, Joe.

Ivan married Laurane (Ellertson) Nelson on Feb. 24, 1951, in Madelia. They lived and farmed near Cosmos. They retired in 1980 and moved to Eden Valley. They moved to Litchfield in 1999.
He is survived by his wife; children: Jerry Nelson of St. Paul, Donna (and Larry) Johnson of Grove City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Jeanette Shellum of Red Wing.
He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
