WILLMAR -- James Edward Thomas, 59, of Willmar, died Friday at his home in Willmar.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Fred and Maxine (Lowater) Thomas. He grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. The family moved to Midland, Texas, in 1969. He worked at several gas stations and in the oil fields in the area while attending trade school.

He married Frances Bryan on May 27, 1982. They lived in Midland, Texas. They moved to Tulsa, Okla., in 1984 and he worked for Ellis Construction Company for more than 13 years. They moved to Willmar in 1999. He worked as a farm manager for Willmar Poultry Company until he retired.
He is survived by his children: James (and Rose) Ward of Taylor, Mich., Samantha Floyd of Owasso, Okla., Melissa Thomas of Willmar; stepdaughter: Leann Ward of Taylor, Mich.; four grandchildren; and two siblings: Rick Hendricks and Mary (and Bernie) Stull, all of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by his wife in January; and one brother.
