LITCHFIELD -- James F. Peterson, 75, of Litchfield died March 21 at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
A private service was held March 25 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial was at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, with military honors by Admiral Benson VFW Post 2818 of Litchfield.
He was born March 7, 1931, in Litchfield to Samuel and Gerda (Lindell) Peterson.
He married JoAnn Rathbun. They lived in Grand Forks, N.D. He served in the U.S. Air Force duing the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired after 23 years of service. He worked for the U.S. Civil Service and retired in 1993.

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife; son: Jeff (and Rhonda) Peterson of Dassel; two grandchildren; and siblings: Sam Peterson of Sheldon, Iowa, and Margaret Brueckner of Ponteverda, Spain.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother: Margaret; and one brother.
